What is zen art?

 A Zentangle is a form of meditative drawing or doodling. It is abstract in nature and relies on the use of patterning to create an all over fill.Happy doodling, or tangling, or stendoodling or zentangling or making mandalas!

It was invented in 2004 by a monk named Rick Roberts and an artist named Maria Thomas. Zentangles are created all over the world by people of all ages.The term Zentangle comes from the words 'zen' (the Buddhist meditative philosophy for balancing the mind) and 'tangle'. The goal of this art practice is to achieve calm.

Some main principles of Zen philosophy are the denial of the ego, the focus on interconnectedness in the universe, the recognition of attachment as a source of suffering, and the realization that human perception is faulty.The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. We call these patterns, tangles. You create tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. These simple shapes are the "Elemental Strokes" in all Zentangle art.

According to the Zentangle method, the elemental strokes are five: straight line, C-shape, S-shape, Orbs (Circles) and dots.

Zen Tangle art relaxes the body and mind through the process of concentrating while painting, achieving a healing effect.

My journey of zen art started back than in 2019.I was suffering from chronic migraine.I stopped doing everything including study,eating,fun etc.Because I was in depression for my sickness.It ruined my study,my career.That time I was doing nothing but wasting my time on internet.By spending a lot of time on internet I got to know about this amazing calm art technique called zentangle art.I first saw an art post on an instagram account.And that picture caught my eyes immediately.I visited that profile and saw all the art of that artist and discovered the name of this art.I never know about this art before.

Then I did a google search and found all the details of zen art.After that I learned the techniques of zen art and I started doing this.Still I'm practising because this art calm my mind.Whenever I feel anxious or stressed or overwhelmed I sit on my table,light up an candle and start doing zentangle.I clear all the tangles of my mind and turn all these tangle into zentangle art.

I will suggest everyone to must try this art atleast ones in a lifetime. It calms your mind and sharpen your thought process, shines your brain.My recommendations is for everyone, specially those people who are suffering from anxiety or depression. It'll be a very helpful process to calm your mind and also you’ll learn a new art technique which will help you in another way in life.No skill is valueless.
